SFM #24: Peru. Peru trip photos

My daughter Tammy and I just visited Peru and its star attraction Machu Picchu. These are some of the photos of the trip.

Some background information of the photos:

  • Machu Picchu is perched on a precarious mountain peak 1,500 feet above a river valley.
  • A train took us from the city of Cuzco to the last station, then a bus took us up a zig-zag road.
  • The Inca boy raced the bus downhill by running down short cut stairs. He got tips for his effort.
  • The condor is a giant vulture with 9-feet wingspan. It’s the largest flying bird.
  • Peruvians eat guinea pigs on special occasions. Rural households raise them in the house like chicken.
  • Almost 3% of Peru population is ethnic Chinese. But we saw very few of them, even in Lima’s Chinatown.
  • I take self portraits with my invention. It comes in handy during trips.
  • I use a computer software application to stitch several photos to form a panoramic photo. It’s really neat.
